About the host
April Brown is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster, educator, and author. Before transitioning to teaching, she covered education on a local and national level as a journalist, most recently as a Special Correspondent for the PBS NewsHour.
Ms. Brown has been in the classroom full-time since 2016 and earned numerous journalism and educational certifications, including one for “Teaching Practices for Student Engagement and Success” from the Association of College and University Educators and the American Council on Education. She also wrote the online interactive textbook “Introduction to Journalism: An Interactive Guide.”
